Alabama JobLink Resumes Surpass 100,000 Milestone

The number of resumes available to Alabama employers online through Alabama JobLink (AJL) has surpassed 100,000. The milestone for AJL, the Alabama Career Center System’s free Internet Web-based labor exchange, was reached on September 20. As of the close of business on September 28, the number of resumes exceeded 103,000.

A closer look at those resumes reveals the following about the job seekers:

  • Over one-third have post-secondary education.
  • Nearly 20,000 have college course work, but no degree.
  • Over 6,000 have an Associates degree.
  • More than 7,000 have a Bachelors degree.
  • Almost 1,200 have a Masters degree or higher.
  • 70 have a PhD.
  • 59 have a JD.
  • 12 have a medicine, optometry, or related degree.
  • 382 have an Alabama Career Readiness Certificate from Career Ready Alabama: http://www.careerreadyalabama.com.

Alabama JobLink was launched in June 2005 to match employers with qualified applicants. Employers who register with AJL may post job openings and search resumes posted by potential employees who have also registered with AJL. AJL automatically sends e-mails to employers from resumes that match their job orders and also generates e-mails to job seekers regarding new job openings. Access to AJL is available everyday, around the clock, including holidays.
