Alabama JobLink Resumes Total Approaches 100,000
Two years after Alabama JobLink (AJL) was launched in June 2005, the number of resumes available to employers has surpassed 89,000.

Thanks to the National Directory of New Hires (NDNH), the Alabama New Hire Program has greatly improved capabilities. With information gathered from all 50 states, NDNH not only expands the amount of information available to detect potential overpayments (fraudulent and non-fraudulent), but also allows Alabama to match in-state new hire records faster.

2006 Unemployment Insurance Rate Schedule is Lowered
Alabama employers are no longer paying the highest unemployment insurance rate allowed under state law. As of January 1, 2006, the rate schedule has declined from “Schedule D” in 2005, to “Schedule C.” The money collected is deposited into the Unemployment Compensation Trust Fund, which is used to pay unemployment insurance benefits for qualified Alabamians.

2005 Unemployment Compensation Rate Schedule Announced
Schedule D has now arrived. As result of the balance in the Alabama State Unemployment Compensation Trust Fund on June 30 of this year, employers will move from “Schedule C” to “Schedule D” on January 1, 2005.
