Employers are encouraged to handle the mandatory reporting of newly-hired and recalled workers to the Alabama Department of Industrial Relations through the homepage of the Industrial Relations Web site: www.dir.alabama.gov/. Click on the “New-Hire Program” link on the lower right side of the page.

Electronic filing of New-Hires is an easy, efficient, and secure method that saves money on mailing costs, compared to other means of New-Hire reporting, such as New-Hire forms and magnetic media. Tax dollars are also used more efficiently, since fewer employees are needed to transpose New-Hire information into the Industrial Relations computer system.
